For my Tee Dee .09, I want one of these!
It might be called a Stunt Rocket. Anyone know what size it is, if an .09 will be suited for it, if it comes in a kit?
I've never had an engine other than .049ci. But now that I have an .09, I need a plane to wrap around it and I love this design. It's one of my rotating desktop backgrounds and every time it pops up, I sit and stare at it wishing it was me flying it.
What do y'all think about it?

I know of the mini Stunt Rocket and the Regular size. Black Hawk has both. The mini takes an .049. The larger takes a modern .40.

I would love to build one too. If I can find plans.

That particular plane was built by one of my club members. That's Bob Z. It's powered with a .48 Triumph or Atwood. Larry Rice from Blackhawk chose Bob's plane for the cover art of the kit. The entire fuse and rudder are fiberglass unlike Larry's kit which is all built up. The plane flies amazingly well . I was present the day someone else was flying it and the control horn broke. That picture was from Brodak's Fly In. in . Luckily no real damage was done. One problem with the .09 is that they're just isn't many available models for it. Larry's 1/2 A version might be designed around the .049 in mind and the cg would be way off using the .09 as it's almost twice the weight. Flying Models had a plane for the Tee Dee .09. It was known as the "Stuntgoat". It's in Flying Models mag from 8/99. The plane looked pretty cool and it was the only plane I ever seen available with the Tee Dee .09 in mind. Wingspan is 30" and was designed by R.Clough Jr. I can't find the mag but I wrote down the number which has been on my bench for a while. I recall the plane was inked on the wood and covered over with a transparent covering. The builder had inked scallops on the leading edge prior to covering which looked cool. I believe I just found it http://carstensbookstore.com/stuntgoat09.html Ken

You could always grab the .049 one and build it then have the plans enlarged to .09 size........

If you read the descriptions you will find that the small one is a profile look-alike. The large one was designed in 1951 and uses building practices of that era. Modern ones are usually built for competition in the "Old Time Stunt" event. The fuselage is planked (unless changed for the kit). If you are going to scale plans for the TD .09, I would suggest scaling down the full-fuselage plans.
If you have no interest in the larger size, you can probably get plans-only from Black Hawk Models to have them scaled. Perhaps Black Hawk could scale them for you or provide suggestions as to what size to scale them.
It IS a nice looking plane.
