would have a issue of the home shop machinist magazine from 1990, with a tiny "hit and miss engine" that is a little over 4'' long? they also had like a 10 part thing where they walked through making a engine called Panther pup, which was a 4 stroke 4 cylinder engine, thanks if any one can help

I'll take a look for those magazines at the thrift store next time I go. I know people used to make hit and miss engines out of old curtis air compressor cylinders, I have seen an article in a old magazine somewhere that goes through that.
