Yeah, you did okay. Unless it is cracked, the carb body on the medallion should be fine but if you want it to look nicer, you can get a replacement from K&B. For the Sportsman, that is a fair price and should probably run fine.

I though it was .049 like space bug or something.
I was getting happy but I suppose a sportsman is ok.

Well, I'm studying the one you got and comparing it with a known Sportsman and a known Space Hopper. It very well could be a Space Hopper .049. The crankcase neck has that little rib or lip right before the driveplate and so does the Space Hopper .049 while the Sportsman doesn't have the rib or lip. The more you look at the top of the glow head, the longer I'm thinking it is a .049. Be sure to tell us what it really is when you get it! If it is a Space Hopper, you did quite good. If it is a Sportsman, you did fine as well.

I was going to put it in hidden cox engines but I wanted it so didn't.
I will let you know .
The seller cancelled the purchase of the meddallion because he won't ship to me in the UK my relatives in the USA.

Good deals? 022_co10

Rest assured it's a Space Hopper, it's also got the original type glowhead and spinner.

I saw this post a week or so ago and noticed the seller was from my hometown, after a couple emails I figured out who he was, I remembered meeting him back in the eighties after I had moved away when I was home visiting the folks...small world.

Another tell-tale sign that the engine is a Space Hopper and not a Sportsman (.15) is the needle valve and the spinner. The needle was different on the Sportsman and it did not have a Spinner. I never had a Sportsman, but I did have the Olympic .15. Unfortunately, it disappeared while I was in the Navy, and I never got a replacement. :-(

I also never had a Space Hopper...good find!
