Re: Cranking up a reed valve cox on bladder pressure.
The video you reference in the quote was shot at Esteban Park, 32nd street and rosier south of the I-10. The east side of the park is home field for the central Arizona control line club, as far as I know you can fly there anytime. There was a combat meet there last weekend with participants from Arizona, California, and Texas from what I saw. Apparently there are club members flying every Sunday morning. I plan on checking it out this Sunday.ahrma_581 wrote:JPvelo wrote:Here's some bad video of me flying the pressure setup yesterday.
Where in PHX are you able to fly without the po-po showing up? I noticed in one of your other videos it looked like you were in a retention basin park, which are usually crawling with city park rangers. Timing is everything, I guess.
The other video is at desert storm park, east of 16th street between Oregon and colter, adjacent to the 51. It is almost always deserted in mid morning. I have actually flown there while the city of phoenix parks and recreation maintenance crew is there and never gotten any static. Do you live in Phoenix?

Jim,
Did for about 20 years. Now down in Ajo. Lots of wide open space. Google map 'Eric Marcus Municipal Airport, Ajo, AZ' to see the locals' personal playground; a former WWII AAF training airbase. (There is about one landing a week at the airport.)

Just spent a couple of hours trying to get my second pressure feed reedie to run. Flooded out no matter how lean I set the needle until I switched the star shaped Mylar reed for a rectangular Mylar. Fired right up and screamed as loud as the first one after that.

That's good to know. Tinkering with the reedies on pressure is still on my winter project list.

Re: Cranking up a reed valve cox on bladder pressure.
JP is our leader in Reedy/Bladder R&D around here. He gave me some parts to experiment with but by the time I do, I'm not sure there's anything I'll figure out that won't be elementary to him. When he cranked his Satan engine on Youtube the other night, I almost dove under the desk to take cover.
I think I'll work on a remote NVA. That would be convenient.

I was going to play around with making a remote valve for my sportsman .15 so I can run bladder pressure on the akromaster I'm getting my son.

If anyone is interested in making and using remote needle valves, I have plenty of advice and designs I use. Every engine I use for combat aside from my 1/2A Norvel's all use remote needle assemblies. Ken

Ken, you should start a thread on remote needle valves. I'm sure alot of uswould find it very helpful.

Jim, I will try and get some pictures later this evening. I try and make such items without having to buy anything special and parts and supplies that are readily available. Ken
