Trim problem
Stuck the satan in the ground pretty good earlier this week, pilot error plane was flying great. Checked everything out, looked good, control throws dead on. The inside loops are now huge, outside tight as ever. As I said control throws are fine. My last Satan did this as well after a lawn dart. What gives?

Re: Trim problem
Could some balancing weight have shifted forward?

Re: Trim problem
No, everything is tight and that would open loops on both directions. Very confusing.RknRusty wrote:Could some balancing weight have shifted forward?

Have someone put a finger on the elevator while you move it through. Maybe something has a hairline fracture...

Re: Trim problem
Check your control rod guide brace. Full up is the direction that flexes it if it's not working.

Re: Trim problem
I don't have a guide brace. Maybe if add one and stop flying into the ground I can solve the problemRknRusty wrote:Check your control rod guide brace. Full up is the direction that flexes it if it's not working.

Re: Trim problem
I wouldn't think you would need a brace on that short of a run. Bellcrank lifting in one direction? Although you did say the throws are good. Under load though things may be happening.

Re: Trim problem
Is your motor now tilted down in the mount somehow, mashed the mounting screw holes? Did you have to patch any covering material and now the wings warped or caved in/out a bit? Seems like something making it fly 'tilted' forcing your to give it a little bit of constant up elevator, so there's less up to maneuver.

Re: Trim problem
Did you ever get this sorted? Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: Trim problem
The amount of control surface deflection by the throws would be of conern to me.
Are they equal or does one surface deflect more than the other?
