Re: post ended
Looks like a "Babe Bee" (not a Silver Bee) .049 to me. I know because I have had a "Babe Bee .049 for a buncha years.
I'm not aware of a "Silver Bee" and can't find one listed on the Cox Engine Collection site (see forum header)

Yep, it does look pretty 'rare'!
I don't think i've ever seen a '59 Super Bee with a larger tank. I don't remember, did Cox polish their tanks? Also, didn't Super Bees have 'p-40 'stamped on cylinder?
I could go on, glowhead, cylinder, tank, needle and probably backplate...
The problem with posting stuff like this, especially on this web site as most of us know what a real '59 Super Bee looks like, and this 'Heinz 57' engine is not even close!

This is the post that started all the terrible berating, the seller added the last paragraph after my reply.
I know I 'flamed' this guy in my sarcastic reply and I know i should always be nice, but i really got the impression (and still do) that he was out to make a fast buck and now he's the victim.
Over the last 12-14 years or so, I've made many efforts to educate sellers on eBay, mostly falling on deaf ears, as they're don't want the truth, truth hurts value. So when someone comes on this site selling a $20 Bee as a $90 collectors piece and claims he knows the exact year and have over 1400 positive feedback to help substantiate his claim, I'm sorry I take offence to it.
Here's the PM:

I really would have liked a PM on what I need to verify rather than a berating. not trying to pull anything over on anyone, I just thought Cox engine forum, list Cox engines. Not too much to ask, or is it?? Thanks, Neil.

Verify? From your post you claim to know exactly what it is your selling, even down to the year!
Yet your engine is not even close, let alone the outlandish asking price?
At this point it is, take care.
"Up for sale is a 1959 first year Cox .049 Silver Bee, pristine engine. Great little engine that is very rare. Looking for $90 shipped to the lower 48. I have a lot of Cox engines, and there seems to be little interest here. I have over 1400 positive feedback on evilbay"
