Actually they were good little engines. Mine is a bit worn but still runs. I believe the "Vibra-matic" was for a clapper or reed valve in the intake. Haven't had mine apart in years. Here's a side and top view of the box.


Edit: sorry Ian, you mentioned reed valve at the top.
