Re: REED SPEED 2016 qualifying photos!!!
Well done Jim. Nice to see someone getting into the spirit of this competition. Doesn't look like there's too many folk who are in line for a shot.
I have to say, that sure is one freaky looking plane. No offence, but I could never really figure out how the Gee Bee managed to fly at any great speed. Such a stumpy looking machine.

Hey... a GeeBee! Noyce! You survived the flight so now I don't believe all the hub-bub about them being pilot killers!

I will have more entries later in year I hope. The G-1 is unflown. I'm waiting for some graphics before it gets clear coated. I got no way of making the vids.

Here's the rules. https://www.coxengineforum.com/t5898-cef-profile-scale-speed-rules
Time has pretty much run out this time 'round, but it doesn't look like there's a lot of competition. Admin may offer another extension to allow more entrants. I think the weather has delayed a few.

How long do you want to fly that thing for Eric. With a balloon that size you can enter an endurance test, not a speed test. That thing would stay in the air 'til the cows come home.

So that makes six entries, four reedies and two Tee Dee. Get your videos to me by the 31st. Please review the video in the rules to make it easy for the judges.

Re: REED SPEED 2016 qualifying photos!!!
Thanks guys , I had to throw it together yesterday , I seem to stay just a little bit behind on everthing now a days . So I am flying against that Gee Bee looks like , Jim is there going to be a vote for the most prettiest model ? Roddie sent me a mess. and I know I have to do something about the BALLOON size and air turbulence I was at JRs there other day and got some cigars (no container) and forgot to see if some hi dollar sole had took theres off and threw it in the trash so I could retrieve it finish the leads I have the line set made up so I am almost good to fly and Sat. is the next warm day if the wind will stay at bay . Rod say you think it will make 15 or so laps LoL When I bought the balloons I did know what size to get can someone tell me the appropriate size so I don't spin outer space ???? getback

Eric, try a "party-supply" store for a selection of sizes. Check the packages for the "inflated-size". I have some 4" rounds that hold around 7 to 8cc's before stretching. Look for some of those and maybe some 6" rounds too.
Nice

Re: REED SPEED 2016 qualifying photos!!!
Well almighty then lol ,,, got my video sent 12mph winds but was a nice 63 degrees with NO time left soooo ,, the first run went well but HI in the sky and so wiggly I was afraid to go low being not use to it and my first TD I will admit . I must have been going a list a 50+ range ,, the second run was not as good (this was my son latching ) but that's OK done good on the first but , next time I got the banjo and couldn't recover but I still have all of it ... The Video wasn't worth the viewing . But its OK all in fun , and the balloon wasn't working so I went with the wedge !! Eric
