Not me...I chased my "escapement-Controlled" Minnie Mambo more than I flew it! Exponential Rate Control is simply Electronic Prosaic for your airplane !

nitro.
You be giving up 2.4 gigs then and a lot of other modern RC refinements too.

or you can look at it as adjusting the model to your brain speed. Throw some ultra strong Foldger's in the mix and it tosses all that out the window.

As in target shooting I never fly when under the influence of stimulants. Try target shooting after having a couple cups of coffee then get back to me with the results.

Sounds fun to me!
Well, it MIGHT have been fun, but for the fact that I had NO guarantee that I was gonna get my plane back, and I had a LOT of mowed yards and GRIT Newspaper Miles invested in it !
Besides, I went to all the trouble of installing a rudder for "Control", and by golly, I expected to CONTROL IT !!!!!

knee slappers
You guys are cracking me up!!
For now I will stick with my old school equipment for my planes, it still makes sense to me;unlike the expo-whatever and the dual rate-majigger..........and this convohalps me understand why those toggles on the tx for my blade cp pro heli made crashing it so confusing and easy to do
Maybe someday I will step up from the basic `80`s radios to understand the new wave stuff, but it still flies mine all the way to the csene of the old school crashes I do so often( but only when I attempt to fly)
Someday I will read through that link that Nitro threw on there too but for now the equipment I have is challenge enough

Re: Dual Rates and stuff.
Dont flip the mix switches on the radio!!. Those are called crash mixes for a reason!
That being said, the super jake is going to get a flaperon mix for the throttle. Once the throttle is reduced to a certain point, the flaperon mix will kick in. I like to tempt fate.

I have seen many, many more lockouts and crashes due to 2.4 than 72. In fact, I have never seen a 72 problem. I fly both 72 and 2.4, and have had several crashes on .40 glow planes and 450 size electric planes. It wasn't fun, my pride and joy turned to balsa confetti because the radio decided to lock. Never had a single glitch or problem with 72.
I think the only reason it is not overly practical is because of the danger of switching to radios on that use the same channel/frequency.
72 can me made with micro receivers, too.

I dunno what that means but it sounds like a cool idea....well maybe......now where did I put that r/c pilots dictionary at this time...... ......
SuperDave..... I actually own a hk 2.4 system and there is a 2.4 in my blade msr heli, I like the not waiting for the radio to "find itself " after I flip the switch on the old radio`s, but I havn`t had problems with either type system yet

Dave I would be happy never to use RC and have stuck to powered FF but it is no longer welcome at local fields and stuff.

You have the HK bound to the MSR,I never new HK could do DSM2?
Re: Dual Rates and stuff.
Well, i haven't got into the elevons and setting the dual rates and percentages of expo for both sides of the throws yet. Setting up a flying wing to do interesting things is a WHOLE different ball game,,lol.
That'll really make your head itch on the inside,,but in a cool way.

UMMMMMM, no!! I havn`t even bought the second reciever for the hk 2.4 yet, binding that for more that 1 rx seems like a pain, esp. with no instructions(the HK standard seems to be "no directions/instructions")
The msr came with its own tx/rx and I`m fine with it as is.
PV, I have a delta (foam core balsa sheet)sitting here just waiting on me to be ready to fly it and thats when I will learn about elevons

Re: Dual Rates and stuff.
My uncle has a Zagi wing - foam core covered with Monokote. We had a mixer on it at first, but then he got a DX7 with built in mixing.
Flew it with a 400 brushed motor with a Nicad pack, then put a Grayson outrunner DD motor and a 1250mAh 11.1 Lipo battery.
A lot more fun after the upgrade.
