T
O +R, Olson and Rice...?
Many years ago you could get a very small outboard motor, with an air cooled "Rice" 2 t petrol engine that had a round cylinder head and revved like billyoh, tiny prop so not much good on a good tide.
They never caught on.
Don't remember seeing any " Cox" branding on it but memory fades etc. with age.

Re: Cox 140 Beaver
That's some great work there! I know many of these Cox gas engines become shelf queens because carb parts are so difficult to find. If it works (which I cannot see why it wouldn't), I'd say this deserves a sticky.
Re: Cox 140 Beaver
Glad you popped in Jacob , what I was thinking myself and with the right title to tie things together would bee easy to find in the search feature ...>< A lot of GOOD info gets lost deep in threads where one subject leads to a discussion of a different topic >> If that makes since <<

Re: Cox 140 Beaver
A litle trick for the rock hard diaphragm i Dip the complete carburetor in a mixture of gas and wd40 Let it soak for the night If the carburetor is new never seen gas We can reinstall it here the mix has filled the interior that the diaphragm has become flexible again It is old diaphragm are made of a material which with the gas and other product can regain their flexibility If they are not shattering or piercing tearing it should be good I have done a repair on an old chainsaw from 1977 mcculloch Yesterday the diaphragm did not move After having disassembled soak all night this morning I have a working carburetor Works like new it looks like this old saw was unused It's worth it a try

Cox 140 fans...
You CAN obtain STOCK CARB rebuild parts from: SUGAR CREEK SUPPLY
Here is the link: https://www.sugarcreeksupply.net/search?type=product&q=cox
Now that my Cox 140 (Rhino 140) is pristine perfect and never run, I am reluctant TO RUN IT!
I also understand that for some odd reason, the engine prefers a prop in the 20x5 size, which is not only impossible to find, but to my way of thinking, WAY TOO MUCH PROP for a 23cc engine, ESPECIALLY a GLOW 23cc.
Does anyone have experience running or flying this engine? Does the stock carburetor provide good idle and transition?
I would expect a "maintenance issue" would be to empty the carburetor, remove the stock diaphragm, and saturate it in some form of inert oil, otherwise the methanol will have it rock hard in no time
