Love that Ercoupe!
I had the wonderful oppurtunity to ride in one. I even got to "fly" it a bit.

[quote="Mudhen"]Not only could I not name the engine in this photo...I couldn't even find it. Maybe you guys will have better luck than me.
I'm guessing TeeDee.020, but I really need to see more of the photo, below the bottom border to be sure.

1.3 ounces of castor will bring it up to 20%. But 17% runs just fine. I calculated that on our Excel fuel spreadsheet that Bernie has for us.nitroairplane wrote:Just a few table spoons of it is good you want 20% castor ideally.WingingIt74 wrote:well *^@#! I didn't notice that, could of stayed with Hobbico and added some castor..... Where can I get castor oil and how much do I add?
Go to the Pharmacy and get USP castor oil or anything de gummed.

Where did you get that 17% figure? I remember someone on a CL site said that one of the fuels (don't remember which one) is measured by weight, not volume and their actual lube content (by volume) was 14%. If a fuel does not say lube content, it's up to you whether to trust them. I do not.
I would add some extra lube for insurance. Your engine will last longer AND be less subject to a lean needle...but that's just my opinion.
Good luck, either way.

Glowplug advertises his fuels as 17% castor oil.

I assume that's per 8oz?

Re: Everyone's Favorite GameShow... Name that Engine!
Sorry, not specific enough. I buy quarts from Glowplugboy. It has 17% castor oil, 59% methanol and 24% nitromethane. So 1.3 ounces of castor added to that quart will make it 20% castor. Of course that changes the % of methanol and nitro, but that's really negligible.WingingIt74 wrote:RknRusty wrote:1.3 ounces of castor will bring it up to 20%. But 17% runs just fine.
