Re: **Black Lynx Engine Giveaway June 2017** Cox Engine of the Month
Thanks guys! I'm a bit overwhelmed and very thankful. Just a few months ago, Ron mailed my Tach-Race engine back to me along with the "Wasp" engine that Cox international donated.
What's even "cooler"... is that both of these engines utilize a "drop-in" style plug and special head. I had never had one of these.. and am psyched to run them!
The "Black Lynx"..
The "Wasp"..
I'll have to contact both Matt and Bernie.. to see about obtaining some spare plugs.

Yes, the inserts are what we prefer on these engines as they typically last a little longer than a high compression Cox glow head. Additionally, if one wants to run it at very high nitro (usually shortening the life of the filament), the insert plugs are a less expensive replacement.

Re: **Black Lynx Engine Giveaway June 2017** Cox Engine of the Month
This might be the engine to run on my Rare Bear... I plan on trying to fly that airplane this week.. along with a few others. Matt will be shipping the "Black Lynx" from CT. which neighbors RI.. but with the holiday I might not receive it until sometime next week. That's ok though. My tach-race engine is basically the same engine as I originally built for the modified F8F-2 Bearcat. Ron got 19.5K out of that engine with the APC 4.75 x 4 prop.
When I do attempt to fly the Rare-bear... I plan on making things less complicated. The cowl will be omitted for one.. and the lines will be a shorter 35 feet, rather than the 42 feet mandated by the 1st contest. The fuel-tank will be a wedge.. rather than the one I made. If I do have engine-running gremlins.. I'll just swap it out for a stock product engine and 5 x 3 prop. That airplane needs to fly. I spent too much time on it.. to just hang from the ceiling of my workshop..
