Re: Show and Tell
Thought I would share a control line Enya .15 from my potentials pile. Planing to clean it up and test it out in this little flapped rig. I couldn't help myself when I seen the listing for the plane I "needed" it. Thought about hanging it for display in my kids room, but after plopping this motor on the c.g. came out great, and the linkage is free. It wants to fly! I'm looking forward to getting it up next summer and sharing a video with the builder of it flying again. I purchased the plane lot through his daughter (4 planes all together). She indicated it would be something he would enjoy seeing. And that's something I'm going to make happen once weather and time allows. So far so good.

Thanks, glad to hear it. I'll have to search some of those modifications im super curious now. I actualy have no idea what model it is. May be a scratch build. It uses a foam core wing. Which I was suprised about when I picked it up.

Looks good, any chance of getting a profile picture of that profile? Kind of curious as to what it is. The vertical stab looks curved, but it may just be the angle of the picture.

It may just be the angle, here's a pick. It was snapped off i did a quick tack so I wouldn't loose it needs straightening yet. I like the little bit of character.

Re: Show and Tell
Neat. Flaps plane coupled to the elevator.
As an experiment I did one many years ago. Put together from some scrap balsa and a horizontal stab from a crashed R/C plane. Enya power. Flight characteristics could be classified as squirrelly at best. Takes a whole bunch of attention to keep it in the air. As I said experimental. Red paint is two part epoxy, indestructible. It's at least 40 years old and was flown as recently as last summer.

Have you/are you going to fly it? I like the way you protect your engines and contain any oil drips.

Re: Show and Tell
Rsv1cox cool plane! Wow 40yrs now thats the way to do it. I see you moved your tank a bit inboard to line it up with the carb. Did that make a big difference? I am hoping to fly it next summer. Few items left and it should be good to go. Need to order a tank, make some landing gear and glue the tail on securely. Thats all I can see so far. Seems a bit on the heavey end so interested how it will do.

Re: Show and Tell
Thanks, I have almost always mounted my fuel tanks inside the fuselage on my profiles.
Notable exception:

I just didn't have the room as it would have impacted the control lines. Wire retaining bands required opposite side reinforcements as tightening them tended to crush the balsa.
But if possible it makes for a nice clean installation without the need for rubber bands etc. although it is not a popular option on the forum. After flight clean-up is a breeze. The Enya is a great runner and it has never had any fuel flow problems. Love the epoxy finish too. No fuel saturation around the engine at all, perhaps one reason it has lasted so long.

Super cool. I love this twin mill! Thanks for sharing. Is it a plank wing? Sort of looks like a combat set up. Two 0.9s? I may need to invest in some super thin epoxy to test this out. I've always used sig dope. I was super into building the F82 but never got around to it was planing to do a 1/2a with two 0.049 big migs. Bet that rig sounds awesome with no mufflers too.
