John, Does your GoldenBee have "made in USA" on the backplate like mine does. Mine looks like the one in the test too, but I'm not sure of the vintage. I have a few BabeBees with the blank backplate, but they may pre-date the GBs. Don't know.

It is quite interesting to read through these magazines. In the same volume as for the test above you also find the first version of the cox .010 tie-clip engine for instance.

Test Report - Babe Bee & Golden Bee Empty Picture problems?

Post  Ivanhoe Tue 14 Feb 2012 - 3:41

Just a question for the moderators, I know this isn't the right place to put it, but there is an example here of what I am talking about.
Why do some posted pictures not open in a full window when clicked on? Here, for example, my contribution does, pointer turns to hand, click, new window, but Kris's doesn't, I can't open it to see half the page. Does anyone know why this is so? Really annoying!

you are appearantly using different filehosting services.
i can see that your image links to a servimg site, while kris's does not open to any link.
as i can't spy THAT deep into your posts, you'll have to ask Kris himslef Smile

Use right-hand click and choose view image to see all of it. The rest is up to the moderators, I have merely used the provided place to upload images. I don't know why we cannot attach images as files directly? Limited server space?

Cheers Bob, that's what come's of sitting in the 'littlest room' in the house with an iphone instead of a proper computer....
Yes it does have Made In USA on the back it also has conical shaped glow head (look carefully the third fin is slightly smaller than the first two) and straight up cylinder. Exactly the same
as this one does. There were some GB's on a few weeks back which I concluded were newer than mine.
I sort of arrived at mine being somewhere between 1958 and (I think) 1969.

Unfortunately that doesn't work on my computer (Old, steam-powered)
Do you click on "Host image" in the reply page to put your pictures in?

Yes, I have hosted the image as we cannot attach files to messages.
I have then pasted the image directly as an image rather than as clickable link, which I believe that you have done above. Personally I prefere to show the image rather than being sent to the ad-infested uploading site...

Here is the first way (i.e. my version above) of doing it (purposely without complete brackets);
img]weblink[/img

Here is the second way of doing it (again purposely without complete brackets);
url=weblink]img]weblink[/img[/url

Here is what the second way of doing it appears like (it is a clickable link with an image rather than text to click on);

Ah, that explains it! the last way is the way I always use, ads don't bother me (There's only one, and easily got rid of) and I haven't heard anyone complaining yet! Very Happy Very Happy

it's the most common method of displaying images in forums.
if everyone would upload their images onto the site, the server space needed would be HUGE.
that's what filehosting sites like servimg and imageshack are for.

Yes I can understand the need for server space but if you look at other forums like RCUniverse and RCGroups they both provide that space and you simply attach the image, or other file formats like pdf, directly to each posted message.
