Blu ray player for pc
My Google foo is faulty so I need opinions and recommendations:
Budget up to $100
PC is NUC with 2.0 and 3.0 usb ports
I have a library of DVD and Blu Ray CDs
My Current $23 DVD player does not do Blu Ray nor does it UPSCALE
I prefer the small form factor of a so called "portable" player
Is there a small form USB 3.0 connected Blu Ray player that actually upscales SD DVD movies to 720 or1080 resolution?
for some reason all my Google searches get a lot of options in my price range but NO true description of UPSCALING capability
BTW I watch DVDs on win 10 PC using the VLC app

Re: Blu ray player for pc
Fred, prices have dropped, a year or two ago external portable USB and desktop internal PC unit Blu-Ray drives were above $100, closer to $200. I've seen a few on the major outlets for less than $100, but you'll have to do your own digging, because I don't like to promote something that I have no experience with (i.e., own and tried out myself). Looks like you are wanting more features than the basic models provide. Found some less than $50, but the seller's ratings were so low that I'd feel it a waste of money even to buy.
Deleted and considering possibly moving my previous rant to Red Neck Zone, where it is more appropriate.
