"Suffered a Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly"
Elon Musk's SpaceX team logically and humorously explaining the termination of it's 400' tall moon rocket.
Wonder how many of us have had the same experience in our hobby.............

I find I usually experience those events when I perform unplanned powered landings.

Re: "Suffered a Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly"
That C/L biplane is repairable, can live another day when done. OTOH, I witnessed a large R/C ARF biplane return to kindling about 8 years at the old MADS field, before the city relocated it within southwest corner of Ned Houk Park. It was large, may be a 5.5 - 6 foot wingspan, in bright red covering, a thing of beauty.
It took off, was about 50 feet AGL, then stalled, came down nose first. There were so many lightening holes in its balsa and hardwood sheet pieces, that it literally blew apart. Plastic pilot bust died.

Re: "Suffered a Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly"
i find it very interesting on the "social media" all the folks dancing with joy at "elon's failure"
it makes me wonder when we forgot that scientific progress requires risk and failure.
Society today is now so caught up in ABSOLUTE SAFETY, that we dont advance. at all
Nat Geo published a well thought out article on why this was not the "catastrophic fail" all the pundits want it to be
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/spacex-starship-rocket-launch-space-elon-musk
I wish we could get back to science, advancement, and inspiring kids to become engineers,
instead of Us-vs-Them, and arguments about who is a man or woman.

- Short of wandering over to the Red Neck Zone:
I gather that the sycophant choir didn't like Elon's purchase of Twitter, and opening up alternate speech (used to be called, "Free").cstatman wrote:I wish we could get back to science, advancement, and inspiring kids to become engineers, instead of Us-vs-Them, and arguments about who is a man or woman.
Before the so-called mainstream social media, we initially had Usenet, bulletin boards, and all sorts of forums on just about everything. Now, all of those have evaporated, and the rest including this forum are basically the last frontiers out there.
Used to be, the violation of community standards was using excessive profanity, disruption of posts by trolling, gross off-topic drifts, spam, and etc. One was allowed to express their opinion, even if unpopular, others would use reasoning, facts, etc. It was called open discourse. If one didn't like the discussion, they were simply obliged to not participate.
I also learned from forums past, that the ultra wealthy are so protective of their technology products (Eye-Oh-Mega, mister software guru turned philanthropist's op. sys.), that anything said negative about their sacred cash cows, feedback regarding truthful negative personal experiences, positive experiences about the competitor's products, so forth and ad nauseum, are so protected by their paid squad of posting goons that it ultimately leads to one's name being libeled. The censorship then was to drown out the opposition. The only difference now is they own most of the forums. This same attitude now has progressed into political arenas. They are not your friends.
Also based on recent replies to some of my comments after articles in other opinion sites, I've come to realize that it now appears that the ultrafast quick responses are probably A.I. responses, given their contentless retorts.
And, the current attacks on the foundational aspects of Christianity - Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. If you will notice, self control has gone out the window, along with traditional views of women and children, of which society cannot prosper without. Their so-called expressions of freedom are nothing more than bondage. Some Christians including the wealthy hiding behind pulpits are pushing war instead of winning others to God's eternal kingdom through benevolence.
So, we focus on those close to us, strengthen our families, friends and neighbors, and keep ourselves from being driven into the fears that the boob toob, radio and printed media would like to drive us into.
We also post our enjoyment of this hobby, which gives us something positive to look forward to, because it is good wholesome relaxation and and outlet for expressing creativity and gratitude.

I was amazed the first time I saw that. It's going to topple over any second now............and it didn't.
I get both National Geographic and Smithsonian magazines. Both very liberal in content but some very great science articles. Watch their TV shows too.
Early on, I "suffered rapid disassemblies" mostly Ralphs "Hollow Logs". Caused some griefs because at 50 cents an hour earned at a poultry farm it was a significant expenditure. I think economics made me try harder.
