Fall Flying Fun on Breezy Hill
Making use of a beautiful Fall Wednesday...our club meeting didn't start 'till 7pm, but several of us showed up early to launch some flying things.

Nice video as always Kim!….But the van/flap lizard analogy produced a good belly laugh LOL!!!
You really need to find one of those and hang it on the rear view mirror

The high wing free flights seem to fly better than the low wing Mustang. Videos of models in the open sky are actually pretty boring to watch. As this one has the background visible for most of its duration, it is far more interesting to watch.

Re: Fall Flying Fun on Breezy Hill
Nice video, Kim. Your Air Tractor definitely does not lack power.
Noticed as others that under rubber power, the high wing lightplane flew better than the Guillow P-51D. It is probably more related to the wing loading for the P-51 being higher. My lighter framed Comet P-51B (the one with die printed sheet) flew well back in the mid 1960's, but it is much lighter framed than the Guillow.
Even with contest grade balsa, the Comet will still outshine the Guillow. The heavier framing seems to lend better use by a strong glow motor and strategic sheeting for further strength under R/C rigors. (Thanks, Jacob for the new cleaning glasses emogi.

Yeah, Billy got it at a pretty good price (not sure how much), and it's the later laser-cut version. He's gonna try to use a larger size of rubber for the motor to try and get more performance from it.
It's true that it doesn't have the good-natured cruising flight of the the lighter high-wings, but a Mustang on a "strafing run" REALLY pops, and it'll be neat to see what he can get it to do.

Beautiful flights, and also nice dead-stick landings with the Bee-s...your El-Tractor does not miss the power for sure, Kim..
I remember the flapped lizzard spat a black saliva into the face of that stocky gent sporting a yellow mackintosh in the film, that almost made me puke (not the mack but the saliva smack...)
