Hi.
I've just inherited a load of old Cox engines, from my dad.
Amongst them was my old Babe Bee, the first engine I ever had, when I was a schoolboy.
Having been into R/C Thermal Soaring the last thirty years I'd forgot it's existance.
Once I saw it I just had to see if it still ran. Guess what, if fired 3rd flick and was running after three minutes, and I was thrilled. I'm planning to get the Pee wee running now. It fires when primed but wont run for any length of time and it appears the tank is leaking. I cant find anything obvious wrong, so I'm going to change the gaskits and see if that cures it. Any other ideas?

Disassemble it and soak it in alcohol... At least the back plate.

I attempted to start an engine that hadn't been run in a long time with similar results. Fuel pickup and the needle valve body were clogged with MUNG ( Miscellaneous Unidentified Nasty Goop). Could also be MUNG under the reed...

Check the fuel supply line to the venturi (within the attached fuel tank). I may have become gummed up with old fuel and castor oil.

Ditch any old fuel you may have and replace it with fresh.

If it's not just the tank tree may something under the reed or the reed may be creased.
Replace the gaskets and you might take a look at thereed and it should be able to run well.
Also check the pick up line for obstructions.

Nitro, I didn't notice for the longest time, but then I laughed my butt off. That horse in your avie looks like he's running from someone that just kicked him square in the chicklets. Looks like he's holding them with his front hooves. lol!

Mike you should make or get a power pod for it and put it on a sig riser kit if your a builder. I used to fly gliders and if I were to do it again it would be a babe bee and a riser. Second time I've thought about it now in the past couple weeks. Hmm.

Kim with me the horse looks fast until you look straight at it and it just pokes along. Glance off and read the thread I can see the horse just hauling the mail but yet again, when I look straight at it, it's slow. lol!

Mike you should have seen the box of engines I let go when I was a teen and my parents were making me clean out my belongings to be moving. I had a LOT of things but the engines I let go were hand me downs and all the best parts.

Congratulations on the motors, thats good for sure.
