What to get?
What to get?
Bernie generously gifted me with a $50 certificate. Now I'm wondering what to do with it.
I'm thinking either the RC Flyer, RC Aviator, GB II, or a shipload of parts. I'm an RC guy, so a non-RC engine probably wouldn't see much use.

Re: What to get?
I blew mine on spare parts. I was thinking Venom II at first, but figured a red crankcase and a cylinder set was all I needed to build one.
Do you not have a Golden Bee?

Re: What to get?
I'm accepting donations!
Here's what I came up with:
RC Flyer engine
5x3 safety prop
.010 prop
Short socket prop screws
#3 nylon lock nuts
#3 matching bolts
Total: $53.87

I don't think I will get the GB II - not practical enough.
Nope, never seen or had one. It's on the "list" of things to own.
Re: What to get?
OK, I just placed the order, and selected the Visa card option. Then it took me to a billing page where it told me it would send me a bill in the mail? I thought it was an instant electronic transfer...

Have you contacted Bernie? He gives you a gift certificate number. Then you select the gift certificate option and enter the number.
Looks like the damage is done though. Contact Bernie or Theresa tomorrow and they will fix it.

Ok. Seems like I remember it asking for your card number, and any certificate numbers. Maybe it changed. There is a number on the certificate.
I'll e-mail Bernie tomorrow morning.
Re: What to get?
Got my order placed. I messed it up twice, but Theresa fixed it for me.
Processed and shipped in one afternoon. WTG Bernie.

Not sure. After the on-going, not-so-hot experience with the Cub, I'm thinking a mild sport plane. Balsa, preferably an ARF as I have never built a real balsa kit. I learned quite a bit from converting the Cub, so the second time should be a little cleaner.
Maybe convert something from HobbyKing? like the "Idol"?

I Like this.

It's only 35". Is an .049 too much for that?

Re: What to get?
As long as it's not too much engine I would think it would be fine. Say like a Babe Bee with a 6x3.
I really don't do RC much though do you may wait for others to answer.

Re: What to get?
Put it on a slow boat (30+ days of ship time) and add several other things to it and the shipping cost looks a whole lot less. I have had my eye on that plane. Haven't yet wanted it enough.
On the other hand there are about 50 different versions of the Ugly Stick which is the same basic plane, find a copy, adjust the profiles to what you like and build it.
