In the UK more and more balsa kits are appearing.

For some time the Vintage Model Company has been trading

http://www.vintagemodelcompany.com/mercury-model-aircraft.html

and making kits to order.

Then I came across (Ebay only) - The Old School Model Aircraft factory

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/oldschoolmodelaeroplanefactory/m.html?item=321286840707&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

and more recently a friend of a friend has started producing low volume and very high quality kits. They come up rarely on Ebay but worth watching for.

This one I got recently

Very clean cut parts - no burnt edges or the crushing associated sometimes with die cut kits. Looking forward to building this one.

I also have two of the Old School kits ready to start!

How am I going to store all these planes. I am now addicted to balsa bashing!

That looks great, how are the parts cut?

No idea but I have emailed the designer/manufacturer to ask. I was responding to this

"Please let me know how you get on with the construction, please Email me warts and all and any suggestions on improvements.
best regards Pete"

They could be water cut.  I have seen the results and it is very nice.  Believe it or not the wood stays pretty much dry in the process.

(My experience with water jet cutting is limited to a demo that did not involve seeing the machine or the process, just the results)

The wing of one airplane in the ebay link says laser cut, but that typically leaves the burnt edge.

This is the plane from the friend of a friend. The other two where I have posted the links are definitely laser cut.
