the signature feature is not new lol!

you must not have ever noticed it! Yeah, the pee wee is about the same as its always been except for the newer snap starter, unanodized parts and thicker crankcase.

I am looking into the possibility of producing some of the old beryllium copper ones again after many requests. If pricing fits, maybe brass as well.

I would say the mylar is the best in star form, but its not cost effective to get them produced that way.

Would you get them made for pee wees as well or just .049s?

That would be great! I'll have to pick some up if you do choose to make some copper ones. I have played around with the brass, I purchased a thin (.001) sheet of brass from the hobby shop and cut one out. It worked quite well for the first 3 runs, after that I just put a factory one in it. I'm sure it could go much more on the brass though.

We already have the ones for the Pee Wee .020. If those run out, maybe if the 049 pricing works.

It is still really early in the process, but hopefully it works out.

This may or may not have anything to do with this but it just came to mind when I was reading this. I seen a few pictures where this guy made these hand held hole punch things that punched out .049 crankcase gaskets and another one that made reeds.

When I asked the guy about it, he said it was a special order from china. He designed it himself and he said he could have a set made for me for close to $500 dollars since it was a "one-off" thing. I'll look for his email in my inbox, I believe it was a few years ago.

The one I had in mind was large and metal it looked a bit like pliers I've got one in the attic for use on belts and bags it has a rotating wheel on it for picking the size hole you want.

One could easily make the holes on crankcase gaskets with a set of puches as well.

Matt while your there is one hinge I've been wondering for a while and that's what would the retail price be if you guys started making the tee dee .010 again (i know it's not going to happen but I was wondering anyway)

Probably somewhere around $125 or $150. It would have to be at least 1000 units (and even that may not keep costs down a lot). I might also redesign the tank to be aluminum since a mold would be costly. Or possibly have it use an external tank only.

I would estimate the most expensive/complicated parts would be the crankshaft, cylinder, and piston assembly.

hhm yes its just im convinced they would sell for that in the UK on ebay a good used black and silver tee dee goes for around £80 a nib red and gold one goes for £120 thats more than Valentine engines go for in the USA.

I know that K&B (Mecoa) makes the tanks, you may be able to get a deal with them if you order like 1000 .010 tank kits. It sure would be really neat to see them made again. You would have to prove that they are better then the last ones made.

i just don't understand why no one produces these tiny engines any more.
there are a lot of micro r/c models, that could be equipped with them,
and i'm sure these things would sell. and if the issue is that the engines are to loud,
mufflers could always be designed.

Ronald Valentine still makes tiny engines he has lots of designs ( over 100) but the biggest production run for one design was about 70 he makes the nano bee 0.006cc yes cc and I only weighs one gram.

The tee dee was never the smallest there was an engine called the DC bamboo that was made before the tee dee and has always been smaller.it was 0.009 cu the nano bee Ronald Valentines smallest costs $500 he also makes multiple cylinder engines. I own one of his 0.098cc single engines.

Yes, that is one option if these ever came to be.

To be honest, it would be better to allocate resources toward a TD 049 if anything.

The TD 049? Yeah, I think they would, but at this point it is still a long way off. Finding reputable companies that would produce parts in short runs and at specific price points is difficult.
