Instead of some tools from Harbor Freight that I already have three of, or a button down corduroy necktie, or (heaven forbid) a pair of tickets to American Idol On Tour, I actually got something great for my birthday this year:

Mark, My Wife (without asking first...) got me this for my Birthday when we were dating, about 7 years ago. She still asks me why I've never flown it. I suppose that would make me an ungrateful bastard...

Yep, it's still 2 weeks out. But I got these early so the wife didn't get me the American Idol on Tour tickets or something. When I buy the birthday presents for me, there's never any disappointment or frustration...

The Hyper Viper will be for flying, once I'm more accomplished at aerobatics. I've read that the weak point in the Hyper Viper is the product engine, so I'm gonna swap in a new KB backplate and a TD piston/cylinder. The TD-4 is a survivor, and since it's lasted 60 years, I'll let it live a nice retirement on the shelf. But....OVERLORD wrote:Very nice Mark, is that the start of a collection or just adding?

I have only seen one hyper viper fly and indeed it needed a bit more power. It felt a little on the heavy side, your mods should help things along.
The TD-4 is begging for one more flight. Even if you just fly it level and land. How many folks can claim they flew one? Where is it going to go when you pass on (heaven forbid)

That beautiful plane begs for a Tee Dee .049. For some reason I was thinking that's what it came equipped with. That Surestart could be converted to Killer Bee specs easily enough though.
