They call this an airplane?

Re: They call this an airplane?
Odd but true, it is an indoor flyer. Drag plates are to keep flight speed down for indoor flying.
Seems strange but true ....

lol, i know, its just kinda funny, when Ian mentions profiles and the kid shows up with this...not real scale like!
It's 17f and i'm home today, too cold and too tired to play disc golf, i'm suppose to be cleaning up the workshop so i can get some building/repairing done.

Looks like some one blended " having fun with foam" and the art of origami together!! http://www.paperfolding.com/. Nothing wrong with that, looks like indoor fun when it's too cold or windy to fly outside.

Re: They call this an airplane?
That's a beauty, Eric.
So, Mark, how's it fly? Looking at my plastic Wright Flyer I'd swear it couldn't fly. Even after figuring out which end is front. But it does very well.

It is a mutated profile! I knew it would happen!
Slabby sides have started sprouting more slabby bits and they have carbuncled.
Keep it away from your other planes! It may be infectious!

Re: They call this an airplane?
lol, i tend to agree with you on this one, but they do fly so nice.
However all is not lost with the current generation...here's jr's built from scratch, using scaled up (rubberband powered) Me-109 plans. I'm pretty impressed, this is his third build and other then a few questions answered, done by himself.

I hope I don't sound sacrilegious to some. Can't be any worse than my Estes Cox .049 Star Wars Y-Wing Fighter. With only a 9.5 inch (241 mm) wingspan and pusher prop and 2 oz lead nose counterweight, one would wonder how it should fly.
I do intend sometime future to build it, but it certainly won't be able to do more than round and round.
If I were to modify it by putting say a Sure Start engine in the nose with nose spinner, it would probably do more justice.
