2-56 threaded inserts
I ordered some 2-56 threaded inserts from micro fasteners Tuesday evening and they showed up today. Pretty cool little suckers, small enough to sink into 1/4square engine bearers with 1/32 ply doublers.
Here's one next to a 4-40 insert for size comparison:

Re: 2-56 threaded inserts
Those combined with good hard aluminum engine bearers are the most solid way I've found to mount an engine. On several occasions I've wished I had some 2-56 ones. You got me started on them, Jim.
