I haven't tested this.. but..

These come in a variety of sizes.. are very inexpensive.. and have smooth/rounded jaws that won't abrade your fuel line. I got this idea when reading Mark's (batjac) thread; where he commented that he couldn't release his hemostats before the engine prime ran out. (a common problem)

When these clips are new.. they have a tenacious grip. The size shown is 3/4".. but the larger sizes have even more clamping strength. This clamp would release much quicker than hemostats would. They're available in the stationery section of most any dept. store.

I almost lost my teeth due to some jack !@# using that stupid clip. He had it tied around his neck to boot. That clip will go right into the prop which is what it did and hit me in the mouth. That is a very bad idea and while it seems like it would work, once the fuel line gets wet, it will slip forward and out of the jaws no longer pinching it. A line clip is superior to that or bend music wire and attach it directly to the plane.

I use a tubing clamp. I screw it to the fuselage so it cannot get picked up and thrown.

I bought these, and got green. Cheaper can be had (try ebay). They are the same as certain IV clamps, among other labels.

ok............... Embarassed   I guess this wasn't one of my better ideas..

I use them on my uniflow/muffler line. Just watch out for it scooting an oily line off to the side of the pinchers. Also when you're running rich at startup, you need to be able to quickly pinch and un-pinch while adjusting the needle, and I like having the hemos still in position to do that.

Sometimes the pit man needs to give it a pinch to keep it running while you're heading out to the handle, so make sure there's an easy way for him to finger pinch it.
