Hi all, i'm Francesco, from Italy, i'm collecting cox engines after found a medallion 0.9 in a box sleeping by 25yrs
i just bought this beauty thermal hopper, good conditions, good compression, probably polished by seller or prev owner, i try to start it, but it does few fires and not runs...i opened it to clean and i didn't found any gasket between cranckcase and rear plate and reed valve not close good.
- someone knows as disassembly reed valve? it is locked
- someone can do a picture of it in good condition?i would check if mine is damaged or flexed or other
- someone has a wrench / prop/ rear bid cage or other parts unuseful to sell?

Hello Francesco! Welcome to the Forum !! The reeds you speak of are no longer available , bee very careful not to fold these .. but the gaskets are https://coxengines.ca/cox-.049-thermal-hopper-space-bug-jr.-crankcase-gasket-2.html  You have a bad air leak with out them and is most likly your problem .. wow thanks, i tought in was a monolitic part with reedle retained by a locked plate..

Wow that is pretty dirty looking , but not stuck ! The thin reed goes in First then second reed , Top retainer (note slot ) MAKE SURE THE RETAINER FITS SNUG if not when running it will come off and destroy it Very Happy Beer Cheers

yep, i have a doubt about shape retainer, i hope nobody mod it before, blowing inside inlet with my mouth not easy to flow, reversing it close.

another quick info...how set twin needle?? and why twin lool, better spray? inside they are the same
