Re: Random pictures from the Internet
It seems as if I have bought airplanes pictured off that countertop before. Someone did something evil to that Spitfire.
I can't even begin to explain the P-40.

Re: Random pictures from the Internet
That is the valued Silver Bee engine in the Spitfire (basically a pre Black Widow with non-stunt 8 cc tank), so it is the earlier version circa mid 1960's. I imagine that it could be carefully restored to a certain degree. The Warhawk gives one 2 extra Babe Bee engines.
Seems some child was ingenious in finding his own solutions to repair and upgrading. The use of flashing metal to repair the wing of the Spitfire is evident. The positive is that they weren't subjected to horrific one shot Figure-9 flights. I had that happen to me, the plastics of the day shattered upon hard impact. I learned that balsa was more forgiving.
Figuring back in the day, these were made in the tens of thousands, probably back then it wasn't cherished as much. Now, they are commanding crazy prices for those in virgin condition, over $1,000.00 each.
Personally, I'd rather roll my own out of balsa, because one starts off with a fresh new look.

Re: Random pictures from the Internet
the build is one thing, but getting all three engines running before the first one is out of fuel!!! Nope. just wouldnt happem for me. which is probably a very good things as it would save the plane being smashed into a million pieces when I fly it.

I merged the two topics with the same title.
I don't enforce this rule as much as I probably should, but if you didn't take those pictures yourself, can you please post a link back to where those images came from?
