Flea Market Musciano Zig-Zag or Red Devil?

Flea Market Musciano Zig-Zag or Red Devil?
Found by my son today.
The fin is gone but the wing and horizontal stab says Red Devil over everything else, but I tried hard to make it a Zig Zag.

Previous owner did to the spring starter like what I want to do to all of mine, but I just remove the thing. A plastic canopy, a fin shaped like what's in the picture and we're back in business. Nice looking Babe Bee a bonus.

While the plane itself is cool, I am more curious about teh line winder...... Or does it also double as a handle?

I haven't got it yet, but my son describes it as a home-made control line handle. Somebody did some thinking.
Another Musciano design, the "Stunt Master" profiled here a year or two ago. Smashed when I got it and with a weird second fuel tank. Non functional I would think but I have yet to try it.

Robert,
Man...I'm digging that single engine P-38!
The handle is cool too.

Neat isn't it. Wish I had it but it's just a picture of empty boxes now playing on ebay for around twenty nine dollars IIRC.

Bob, the original owner's tank system may work. Joe Wagner did the same on his upsized F/F Dakota to R/C, The Osprey.
https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=7191 OZ: #7191 - 30in Osprey by Joe Wagner, March 1988 MAN

The idea is, cap the vent on the Auxiliary tank in the cockpit, then one fills both tanks from the Aux. Once Aux. is full, fuel continues to fill the Baby Bee tank, until excess squirts out the tank vent. Then one caps the Baby Bee remaining uncapped vent. In flight, One first uncaps the Aux. vent. When engine is running, fuel is siphoned from the Aux., until it empties, then connecting fuel line is emptied, next the Babe Bee tank starts emptying. Don't know how well it worked for the original owner, but in theory it should work.
Agree with Jim, I love that Musciano P-38 single engine, an unsung classic. Also love its box art, same style as my 25" hard-to-find Cessna 170, perhaps late 1950's to early 1960's. Don't know if anyone ever put out the plan for download.
