Mercedes Thimble Drome
Hi I am new to this site. I recently purchased a NOS Cox Thimble Drome Mercedes 196. It appears to have never been run. I had one in the late 1950s.
I am considering not running it and purchasing a functional used one to relive my childhood. Are there any available other than those on eBay.
Thanks

Hi Marc, and welcome to the forum. I sold ten of mine last year and kept seven which I am holding on to. Good idea, keeping one NIB and buying a beater. They are fun but can be fragile.

to the forum, @Marc116!
FYI, there is a short waiting period, can't remember exactly but 3 to 5 days for photo upload privileges. Jacob @Admin did this to discourage spammers. Once those buttons appear in your compose message bar, Jacob posted instructions on how to do photos under [Introductions] portion of the main menu.

Thanks for the pictures and reply. I think I will keep it NIB and get one I use. When I was a kid I couldn't get the engine started while in the car. Later I was able to start it when I took it out of the car and put a propeller on with a spring. Over 60 years ago.

This is a Cox Mercedes engine. The muffler is unique to this engine and had to find for a restro job.
The base of the muffler is different than others. The tank is also unique in its venting for a babe bee. I want it will be bidding.
