Re: Micro equipment for DX5 Xmiter question
I wonder if the dx5 use dsmx dsm2 protocol? Personally I use a good dx6i dsmx dsm2 and easy to find compatible micro radio reciver i use this
this Very small and very light receiver used with strong micro linear servo also very light less than two grams each The system works with 1 cell lipo battery also possible to find model with integrated esc for brushles that work wit 2 cell But often use the as3x micro receiver The as3x receiver is very effective, helps stabilize the model and gives the impression of a larger and more stable model but more complex installation and programming

Re: Micro equipment for DX5 Xmiter question
That is a surface receiver and will not bind to the DX5 unfortunately. Something along the lines of what David has posted would be your best bet. Or if you can find any older Parkzone airplanes, you can use their receivers as well. They usually have 2 linear servos built in.

Re: Micro equipment for DX5 Xmiter question
Something to check when shopping for a spektrum controller this is the example model here I have two identical controllers both dx6i but one is dsm2 the other dsmx and it has a difference in range The dsmx has never lost the signal, even with micro receivers the dsm2 Lost the signal twice out of two different models for a land vehicle it's ok but not for an airplane I don't trust that controler only my dsmx is in my opinion 100% reliable
But for a vehicle I prefer a pistol grip control with the wheel I also have an old one with a stick for car but it's old I prefer the 2.4g controller
For the elicopter I have this very simple model but works very well 6 channel dsm2 the other one that I have dsm2 must be damaged or I don't know but hey I really have the choice I have several controllers normally I use the dx6i I like it
