The balance is what's important Greg. It's a fairly large model by the looks.. but it doesn't look heavy.
After you're finished building/finishing (and controls installed..) check that it's not tail-heavy. It looks as though you plan to fly it in a clockwise rotation. Is that a left-hand prop I see? If you use a "right-hand" prop, it will torque-roll the model away from you.. ( desirable) which will make launching easier. It will also give you lot's more options for prop choices. Make sure to locate the fuel pick-up toward the outside of the circle! I'd love to try flying speed clockwise!

Looks like it Rusty , if so that stunt tank may give some problems the way it's set up. Are you still in Rusty ?

Re: REED SPEED 2016 qualifying photos!!!
It's for clockwise flying. I dont know why the stunt tank would give problems. I turned the tank 180° and moved the pickup tube to the other side.

Well I cant tell if the picture is bassacwards I figured you new that and flying clockwise is the other side of the way wee go Heck I cant say much after I mounted my engine on the inside of the circle ( by mistake ) wouldn't have been so bad if I wouldn't have use blind nuts, getbackOVERLORD wrote:It's for clockwise flying. The only problem mounting inboard will be tank location and you'll make a heck of a mess with spent castor.getback wrote:

Man! This is good news. I finally had the opportunity to try the Gee Bee Trainer and video it but the engine sputtered through nearly the entire flight (19 laps) with lines measured at 36'-1" and the best speed was only 57.38 mph . When I take only the first 12 laps my average flight speed calculates to 35.81 mph . I had fun but I need to fly it again before I commit my video, if that's okay
I'll be loading photos of a few others I've built and hope to enter in the not too distant days ahead!
