11° here in western KY -- but sunny. Sat on the patio this morning, drinking coffee and throwing the ball for the dog. It was just like sitting in a hot tub on a cold winter's evening, but without the hot tub.
Re: How's the weather?
Another day pushing the mid 90s (35°C). Third day in a row. Cooler with some much needed showers tomorrow. About half way through summer here and it has been dryer & hotter early than I remember. Vegetation is all crispy. Looking forward to some moisture.

10 - 11 degrees but sunny just like with Andrew in Western KY. I thought my house was making a lot of funny popping and creaking noises last night!

Popping & creaking would mean my house is on fire

Re: How's the weather?
Two to three feet of snow and fifty mile an hour winds are forecasted for the ridges of West Virginia and the DC area over the weekend. Kerosun heaters at the ready and fresh water and food laid in as electricity normally goes away under these conditions.
See ya when the sun shines again.....

You stay warm and safe.... those blows can be treacherous. Some of my wife's kin are slightly north of you in the Cannane valley near Thomas and I have been there when a bad storm dumped and the wind blew causing all sorts of grief...too heavy ice and snow with high wind can bring down same damned big trees
A decade ago we had a strong ice storm here (unusual) that wiped out the electricity for 4 days.
Fortunately our co-op power company did a BUNCH of line maintenance, new poles, good excuse to replace ALL the old PCB transformers with modern ones that have better fault detection and can self trip off line and get a reset cue form the distro station (cool power line control technology), a lot of tree trimming (aggravating some home owners) but for the good of all of us. They managed to leverage the State and Federal relief dollars from the "Governor declared disaster"... We have had two worse Canada ICE air events since and the electric stays on now
I wonder if that big wind farm north of you has some de-icing method... Just a interesting thought...we have vast ranges of the wind generators in this state and I never thought of snow or ice load until just now

Re: How's the weather?
Gearing up for another 'Ice Assault' here in S.E. Missouri. Supposed to get here later tonight, so gonna try to get in for some physical therapy on my shoulder today, and cancel tomorrow's appointment so I can just stay on the hill.
Also got a new tank for my portable propane heater to keep the pipes form freezing if we lose electricity.
At SOME point, I'm going to launch a plane into this mess...just for the principal of it !

I didn't go to office yesterday since snow was deep enough to require fours hours of face time with a shovel. We're supposed to get more snow tonight but I'm not feeling real chummy with a shovel right now! Come on Springtime!

Looks like the folks on the US east coast are gonna get creamed over the next couple of day. Lay low, hold tight & keep warm. Turn up the heat & forget about the outside world for a few days.
Go well. Hope you're all safe & secure.
Rod.

Sun shinning in So. Cal. as usual. About 76 degrees F. But rain 40% chance for tomorrow. Houses available here, but not at your local prices I would guess.

Snow started at noon, now three PM. Only a whimpy inch....Come-on..that the best ya got?????? In NH I emptied that much out of my boots.
Already had two offers to plow my driveway (For free). People looking out for people, bunch of good ol' boys around here.
Sent my last MG to a new home in Pennsylvania yesterday. Makes a good before the snow picture. First time I have been MG less in decades.

Re: How's the weather?
In contrast, we're looking for cooler weather & some moisture. Fortunately today is only around 20℃, a great releif from the heatwave we've been having. Got a good 1" or so or rain yesterday and currently light showers. For us, rain is good. Things are just so dry.
Got a local country show (fair) to go to tomorrow with the vintage stationary engines. Don't need rain for that but I don't think anyone will complain. Most other years we sit out in the hot sun all day tending hot smoking old engines. Yeah, a bit foolish but it's all good fun.
Another chance to play on Tuesday with Australia Day (Like U.S. Independance Day) celebrations, with displays in a couple of local parks. Might even take my 1/2A engine display board. There's always someone who will remember Cox engines from their youth. Always get the old guys showing the scars from their youthful encounters with diesels.
