Anyone know about the Fuji .05?
K&B/Mecoa has them on sale RC w/ muffler for $70. Just wondered if that was a decent price or if it was a decent engine.
Thanks for any info.

2nd Bench Test Fuji .050 - topped out at 26,970 rpm
Added 1/4" to the pipe and leaned out a hair bit further
I am using the new mix design Cox Super Power 25%
APC 4.2 x2
Published on Jan 23, 2016
Picco P-0 .06 / .85cc APC 4.2x4
26,570 rpm / 101mph static - Muffler from Mecoa Fuji engine.
AP .09 carb used. 20% nitro / castor / synthetic mix
Run up after 2.5oz break in time. Will be used with a 1/2A Profi tuned pipe.

I am familiar with both of those engines, and I am curious to know what modifications were made to the Fuji to produce those numbers? Thanks, Andy

Re: Anyone know about the Fuji .05?
Fuji .050 - 26,970 rpm with a tuned pipe and APC 4.2x2 Est. 32k unloaded
23,400 rpm with a 4.2x4 with the pipe / unloaded est. 27k / 102 mph with a pylon plane
should hit 90 mph.
Picco P-0 .06 / 26,570 rpm / APC 4.2x4 / est unloaded 32.5k / plyon plane 112+ mph.
Static APC 4.2x2 / 31k / prop pitch is too low to use.

Ken, So you are saying, that all I have to do is put a 4X2 prop on my Fuji, and it will hit 27K? Andy

Re: Anyone know about the Fuji .05?
Some updates for this thread:
The Fuji prefers low weigh props with and thin airfoils 3 pitch props should
be the minimum for flying. No mods other than use a different RC carb and
tuned pipe. Key is low mass spinners I like the AP .061 spinner and a thinner
prop thrust plate. Keep the weight off the axle and don't extend it out far.
I spun down the Mecoa spinner to half its weight stock is way too bulky and
sticks out too far just loads the engine with no benefit.
