Hi guys' got a new video for ya, got the wild idea of sticking my old GoPro Hero2 on the tail boom one of my helicopters. I was going to try it with my Trex 600N but it was a bit too close for comfort to the main blades so I tried my TSA which is much larger and it was perfect. It came out better than I though and it shows the action of the swash plate (The large aluminum piece that the links attach to) very well as the flight goes. It's a good birds eye view of how the thing works during flight. The governor is still hunting but this time was a gain (sensitivity) issue Hope you guys enjoy (Bandit)

Bandit...I spent a bit of my life as a helicopter mechanic, teacher of the maintenance, and crew member..

When I returned the this hobby I started in RC and desperately desired to learn well enough to be competent flying RC helicopters so I could model a few of my favorites like the UH-1H Huey, CH-47 Chinook, BO-105, and AH-1 Apache.... no soap...too old, poor eye hand coordination.... perhaps with the much newer 3 axis gyros I might expend the cash and time

All I really would like to do is take off, (while on front patio smoking a cigar and drinking a adult beverage)  navigate the 1.5 acre front yard, and land the craft  in un destroyed condition

perhaps some day

BTW there are a few real world helicopters that can do the things I see 3-D heli models do...if a pilot had done those flight antics with me abroad, I would have beat him near to death IF we landed.... jest sayin....( and I am a roller coaster Adrenalin junkie)...grin

Cool! I must admit that watching the video I ducked a couple of times to avoid the rotor blades lol!

I missed this when you first posted. That's an awesome skill. And interesting to watch the mechanics you had the camera pointed at.
Thanks for the ride.
Rusty

Thanks Dave, That helps explain the way it works to make the foreword /and turn motions , it was a lot smoother than I expected . The surging seems to smooth out after it warms up a bit . Nice looking fly field too ! Eric Airplane
