Hooray!
I just received the Rusty's Traveling Engines!
All in good condition, and I will treat them with respect!
I will post the engines' exploits as they happen.
I will need to check the list, and find out who is next, and get t their address.
This is going to be fun!

Re: Follow Rusty's Memorial Traveling Engines!
I think I was next on the list but I’m going to have to pass at this time. Life has taken some twists and turns as of late and ai just haven’t had time for my model airplane hobbies. I apologize for the confusion this may cause. I’ve missed tinkering with all my Cox stuff and modeling in general. Hope to get it all sorted out soon.

Re: Follow Rusty's Memorial Traveling Engines!
Looks like Gus hasn't been on since last September. Anyone have alternate contact info and wish to check in on him?
Re: Follow Rusty's Memorial Traveling Engines!
Hi Everyone, I seen a thread that GUS THE I.A. was back online. I sent him a PM with my details. I'm not sure if my computer glitched as I can not view a copy of my sent PM to him in the "out box." Thought I'd post here to help push it along incase it's an I.T. issue.
GUS if you could let me know if you got it that would be awesome.
I'll check back tomorrow to see if maybe it's a lag thing.

Good to hear from you layback209.
Before a PM is read by the recipient, it will be in your Outbox. Once the PM is read, it will be moved to the Sentbox. If it's not in either the outbox or sentbox, then I would assume no PM was sent and to try sending it again.

Re: Follow Rusty's Memorial Traveling Engines!
Yeehaw!!!! Guess what safely came to my doorstep today
Thanks Gus, I'll unbox soon. Looks like customs snuck a peak. We are getting a Chinook weather system swing in Alberta today too. It was -18C now we are climbing back to +5C. Perfect timing to blend some fuel and run some engines.
The only bummer was how bad UPS robbed Gus and I, there is some feelings of injustice on this one. I'll sort it out for the next in the list so that doesn't happen again.
That aside I'm pumped can't wait to hear some thunder from these engines.

Re: Follow Rusty's Memorial Traveling Engines!
Sounded like GUS was doing better in our exchanges, he mensioned he was looking forward to checking in and seeing the engine endeavors.
The plan is to bench run them next Sunday, and bolt the rr1 on my 1/2a skyray for some laps. I'll try and get some of the locals together the more the merrier. Then pop them I the mail to TeeBee. Kinda jam packed with kid sports these days, but have an opening next Sunday so gotta make it happen.
I really enjoyed reading through the journal and feel very fortunate to be able to add to the story and share the joy of castor oil slingers.
Here they are, all in tip top shape, no surprises from customs inspections

Re: Follow Rusty's Memorial Traveling Engines!
Hi Everyone, had a beautiful day here and got to run Rusty's engines. It was 10deg C and zero wind. Wowee did it line up nicely.
Fox 35
Cranked up easily after about 5 flips. I ran it on 11% nitro 25% oil (70% castor / 30% synthetic). Blended up some fresh stuff for it and had a great wet 2 cycle run. Hardly needed a tune. Turned a wood 10x5 happily at about 8.6K rpm and barked about 75 decibels. I've never run a fox before, gotta say I really like them.
PeeWee 0.020
What a fantastic runner, wow. Fired second spring start attempt and also ran beautifully. It was so impressive and held a note perfectly. The needle has a lot of precision, from a wet 2 cycle to steady note was about 2.5 turns. Ran 2 oz. Through it. Started first flip on the second tank. I'm definitely interested in a horse shoe backplate
. It ran happily at 18.5K rpm, a cool 75 degs F and at about a nice quite 73 decibels. Fuel was about 16% nitro 20-22% oil
RR1 0.049
What a cool engine. Took a little bit to get it going but once it did it ran great. I could really see this engine haul the mail. Purred al9ng at about 15-16rpm on a 5x3. Fuel was same as the 0.020 I blended up. Ran at about 160 degrees F and was the loudest of the three at 80+ decibels.
Also ran the 0.020 and rr1 in harmony, now that was quite the experience. Video soon. When they both cranked up, folks stepped back, powerful sound and epic oil spray action. Plan is to copy photos and videos onto the USB, fill out the log book and ship them out mid next week
