Re: ZOOM Copter ...my crazy head is thinking..
17 km/h = 10 mi/h. Esa parece el limite práctico del helícoptero, ¿no? That seems to be the practical limit of the helicopter, no? Esa estaba verdad sobre mis aviones R/C de motor Pee Wee. That was true about my Pee Wee powered R/C airplanes.

Hi MauricioB,
Thanks for sharing this project.
I like the part,
Where the blades are made from rulers...
And you measured how far they went !
With ! A Cox Engine !
Too Cool !
Take care,
Have fun,
Dave

It flys as good as the Cox helli ! I thought it was going to circle around after you turned it loose , that would bee cool . 17km / 10mph is about the limit for fling 1/2 a also Good job on making a non motor helicopter powered by Cox now

Re: ZOOM Copter ...my crazy head is thinking..
Friends, thank you very much for the comments, everyone always making this a great team, the CEF team!
Well, well, seeing the result of my Zoom Copter, then I bought another one, this time in black, I am going to use one more blade, I am going to make a new blade support head in turned grilon and that can mount the 4 blades.
I like this challenge too.
I would like to experiment with the autorotation of the 4 blades.
Ask:
Does anyone have the weight of an original COX .020 SKY COPTER?...just to get an idea of what the Cox Pee Wee can haul out of the box.
Thank you!!!...we continue the process!...
Sorry, this photo is not focusing!

Re: ZOOM Copter ...my crazy head is thinking..
Well friends, I am pleased to share the new 4-blade helicopter, this time in black.
Fabricate a shank rotor.
You can see in the photographs the procedure for anchoring the bicycle spokes.
The cover is fastened with the screws that in turn hold the motor and have slots for the air intake of the motor venturi.
In the tests inside my workshop, the helicopter holds up and wants to leave immediately, I think that the 4 blades work better than three.....we'll see!...hugs to everyone!

Re: ZOOM Copter ...my crazy head is thinking..
I'm glad Bob can understand!
Here is another detail:
The holes are through holes and fulfill 2 functions:
1) They are the anchorage of the bicycle spoke curve, so that it always stays in the same position.
2) these holes are through, (marked with green arrows), they in turn fulfill the function of draining the engine, prevent fuel or oil from accumulating, preventing the engine from drowning with excess fuel.

Doctor Mauricio with that syringe.
You must have positioned the fuel tanks pickup on its outer edge so that centrifugal force would fill not empty the tube?

Re: ZOOM Copter ...my crazy head is thinking..
My friends, thanks for the messages!
Roberto today I went to the club, but I didn't launch it to the Heli, because the wind was 20 km/h, I really wanted to, but the day didn't go with me...soon I hope to be able to launch it, yes, I got into the I gave up the club, I walked and laughed with my friends about how I wanted to escape!
Bob, hahaha, the Dr!, haha...look, I made a drawing.
Yes, the tank has a fuel collector, it is made with the tube of a pen and soldered with a soldering iron by melting the parts. See if you can see what I want to share.
A and B, it is the same hole through which the fuel enters and through which the air enters.
C, centrifugal force (carries the fuel to the extreme).
D, fuel outlet, goes to the engine.
E, plastic pen tube, fuel collector.
These were some preliminary trials until I learned which was the best position:

Re: ZOOM Copter ...my crazy head is thinking..
Well, here these days it is very windy, therefore I dedicated myself to improving the appearance of the fuel tank, it even works better.
Inspired by Bob's helicopter photos (thanks Bob), I made this tank from a piece of turned grilon.
The photos show the process, it really works great and looks even better.
I changed the orientation of the cylinder and that way I have better access to the regulation needle.
Now I have to balance the system again.
I hope you like the work!

Re: ZOOM Copter ...my crazy head is thinking..
That looks much better and bigger for more fuel to , You and your lathe do some very nice work Mauricio The balancing of the unit looks precise , the running was great where the Heli was ready to blast off from the table and engine run very good/your engine always start easily with just the flip of a finger .. Hopefully the wind will calm soon so to get it air born Nice work my friend !!

Re: ZOOM Copter ...my crazy head is thinking..
Hello everyone... well, the windy days continue here, August is a windy season in this territory, meanwhile I couldn't help myself and do a rehearsal indoors, a very small space, but I had to, haha
Checking that the Zoom Copter wants to fly...outdoors, one gentle push and it will go...I hope so lol

Buenas noches Mauricio. Tu helicóptero volaba muy bueno en tu mano. Good evening Mauricio, your helicopter flew well in your hand.

Re: ZOOM Copter ...my crazy head is thinking..
Really nice balance on the rotor Mauricio!!!…. It looks like the weight verses the lift of the engine is close so it may stay closer, longer on a calm day…. It takes a good skill on the machine lathe to completely re-engineer the helicopter to become gas powered free flight….You should send photos and video to the company that made it initially…. I’m sure they would be surprised and also pleased

Look at you running engines and Now fling Heli's in the house You got it bad son / It seems to launch without a problem , good eye catching it before it got loose on you .. You could tie a string to it and fly it like a kite LOL I was thinking the same thing about what Robert said >> ( You should send photos and video to the company that made it initially…. I’m sure they would be surprised and also pleased Very Happy)) Good day Friend !
