S.M.A.L.L. Days Album 1
Broke into a cache of old photos from my trips to Small Airplane Lovers League back in the late 90's and early 2000's, and have been scanning them into my computer.
Just a hodgepodge of photos really: some were taken when the S.M.A.L.L. Fly-In was held on a Plantation on the East side of Little Rock, while others came from the dedicated model airplane field on the West side.
Andy Clancy and his "Bee Hive" !!!
More to follow.

Cool! I did not take enough pictures when I attended events, and now, have only memories of the things I've seen.
If I'm not mistaken, the Spruce Goose is from a local guy, Dan, from Wichita. Seems to have had eight .010 engines on it. That was a sight to see, I'm sure!

I met a few CL guys in Little Rock that asked me to attend this year. I'll be in New Mexico though.
Cool pics Kim!

Kim, do you have got more Fotos of the spruce goose? It's probably one of the coolest coxpowered models I ever seen.

I've only have these other two. REALLY wish I'd taken more of this fellow and his planes!!!! The 4-engined "PBY" was his too, along with several other .010 Powered planes.
I did get video of one of it's flights:

He was very methodical in setting up his engines (guess you'd HAVE to be in order to get them all going at the same time!), and did several non-flying test runs.
Whenever he did a test run, by the time he got five or six going, you could see guys up and down the flightline, putting down their planes and walking toward this wild sound ! Cox Zombies !!!!!

Steve just used a regular fuselage...I think he could convert it back and forth just by swapping out the Rogallo wing for a regular wing. He said he used the T.L.A.R. ---That Looks About Right----method for figuring out the dimensions of the kite.
It flew VERY slowly, and approached to landing like a snail...using a lot of power. One of my "Gotta-Do"future projects !!!
