Re: Cox flight contest time log (Winners announced and prize pics)
My September time is zero hours, zero minutes and zero seconds, nil, zip and nothing.
Does time spent preparing for the contest count?
1. Flying site - leveling, reseeding and rollering ---- 7 hours
2. KK Radian build - 4 hours

52 minutes 7 seconds including today. Ron, thanks for running this contest. I am very curious to see how my little reedie holds up to hours of 20k plus rpm.

Me too Jim!
I bet it will be fine, just keep an eye on that ball socket. Are you running an HD crank?
Keep in mind you can swap any part out if it fails during the contest. So if the backplate is all that is left from your original engine at the end then so be it!

Re: Cox flight contest time log (Winners announced and prize pics)
Yes, it has one of Bernie's killer bee cranks. I actually swapped out the case about two weeks ago. It wasn't worn from use, it was worn from the prop hitting the dirt I checked the ball and socket at that time and it was fine. It's the longevity of the airframe that concerns me!Cribbs74 wrote:Me too Jim!

Re: Cox flight contest time log (Winners announced and prize pics)
Aw man, not a single second of contest time for October.
I flew the Li'l Satan instead. I almost entered that time, momentarily forgetting it was the wrong Tee Dee. I'll have to get some Saturday flights at the church. It'll be dark when kindergarten empties out now.

I'd love to say I've been flying a ton, but yet another BIG ZERO you me. Hunting and fishing season has taken up most of my time. Have to keep the kids and the wife happy.

Were not even half way through this. You have plenty of time to catch up.
You have to watch out for Gus The I.A as he lives in Air Capital USA and has a concrete circle outside his front door...

I have 42:57 for November. I reset the piston a couple of times before the contest, I just checked it again now that it has over 2hrs at 20k plus and it is still nice and snug. Amazing.

Aeroplane ready, engine ready - flying area still has the appearance of the Somme!

I flew the Streak for about 5 minutes on the 28th. That makes my contest total 67 minutes.

I'm even more eligible for the pathetic club. I have the plane all ready - only have to walk 7 yds and set up. Too weather shy!

The pathetic club is very exclusive and the dues are lifelong embarrassment. I think it may be best if we just fly some more.

Re: Cox flight contest time log (Winners announced and prize pics)
I'm going to fly the Streak this weekend, because I want to try out one of Roddie's inner-tube mufflers. If the weather is good I'll try to get about 20 minutes.
I was cleaning Monday's goo of the Li'l Satan today and a tail boom cracked off. Damn, how close I was to losing a whole plane. I think I better remake both of them.
