What is this going to be? (ans: Blew Angel 38)
Anybody guess the name of this model? It goes under a few names but you have to guess the original.
Ribs cut out ready to start.
I will be posting progress (like it or not!)

Well, I'll take a swag. I assume it's RC. My guess is "littlest stick"

It is RC, 4 channel and the wheels in the photograph are 3" diameter.Cribbs74 wrote:Well, I'll take a swag. I assume it's RC. My guess is "littlest stick"
0ne metre wingspan. The Littlest Stick I think is only 20" wingspan. I have the plans for that. Tis on my list of planes to make.

Not British - It is an American design. Originally Minnesota.OVERLORD wrote:Can only be British: WOT 4
This is a derivative. Same outline, slightly different build.

No not a Hog. But I looked the Hog up and it is a beauty. The kit is available in the UK. A bit pricey £107.50 but .......navion34 wrote:A Hog ???? Astro Hog ? (but Sig isn't in Minesota, Iowa I think...)
SIG Astro Hog
from Sig
Classic Sport Aircraft Construction Kit
Wing span (71'') 1803mm - Total Wing Area - 53.17sq.dm. (824 sq. in) - Weight (7-7.5 Ibs) 3.18- 3.4kilos - Radio required 4 channel - Engine required 40 - 60 two or 60 - 80 four stroke
This is the legendary model that got R/C aerobatics off the ground in 1957. As the first successful low-wing R/C model, it swept the top four places at the ‘58 Nationals and pioneered the unlimited aerobatic capability we take for granted today. Obviously the ASTRO-HOG is no longer competitive with today’s high-tech pattern ships, but it does offer the modern sport flier amazing aerobatic performances in a super stable, easy-to-fly model. The ASTRO-HOG will perform any manoeuvre in the book, yet it flies slow enough to let you enjoy it! So gentle, some people have used it as a primary trainer.
The SIG Astro Hog DIY kit features:
Balsa & Plywood Construction for strength & light weight
Precision Die-Cut and Sawn Parts to speed assembly
Semi-Symmetrical NACA-2415 Airfoil for aerobatics & gentle stall characteristics
Responsive Strip Ailerons
Full-Size Plans
Photo-Illustrated Instruction Book
Bolt-On Wing Mounting
Moulded ABS Plastic Headrest
Sig Easy Hinges
Engine Mounts
Standard Trike Landing Gear
Pushrods
Complete Hardware Pack

A flying boat was my impression before I read the most recent posts above. I sure can't put a name to it though. I can say with confidence, if it comes from you, it's bound to be interesting.

I am surprised Kim hasn't nailed it yet. He likes the zany type designs.

Not quite - John Swetland's Blew Angel 38 in kit form - the Duluth Minnesota answer to the Lazy Bee!
It comes between the Lazy Bee and the Little Bug.
Close but no cigars!

Through Fleabay from a fellow engine collector I know very well. He doesn't like Hobby King and got rid of this when he saw they were peddling the Little Bug. He doesn't want to be seen promoting Hobby King products - he is in the trade.pkrankow wrote:So where did you order this kit from?
I don't know how long he has had it but he is far worse than me for hoarding stuff!
I have to say - I am not impressed with Hobby King in the UK. I don't usually pass on negative vibes but they are driving me to it.

Afraid not! There were (are) some strange rules on cigars in the USA concerning their origin. I sometimes get the Duty Free at Heathrow airport when I am on my travels.roddie wrote:No cigars for "fit90" and "Phil"?
As a matter of fact, I will be staying a the Chicago Hilton next week. (Business not pleasure but that doesn't stop me enjoying myself!)

That's OK on the cigar. I tried one in middle school, turned green for a week and couldn't stop coughing. Haven't touched tobacco since.ian1954 wrote:Afraid not!
